I just (finally) made the jump to Win7 & Word2010. I have a specific document that was originally created in Word2003. For maintenance and ease-of-use, I created it as an 11x17 document, but when I needed to print it, I used the print-to-scale feature and printed it on 8.5x11 paper. I found the feature in Word2010, but no matter what I do, no matter which printer I select, I absolutely cannot get the document to scale down in size. Instead, it just prints the center part of each 11x17 page which would fit onto an 8.5x11 page.and it's definitely not scaled down. There's gotta be a better way!! Heck.there's gotta be A WAY! In the Page Setup group, select Size and click the icon that represents the page size that you want. For example, click Letter (Portrait) 8.5 x 11'. If you don’t see the size you want, either click More Preset Page Sizes or click Create New Page Size to create a custom page size. ![]() I recently got Word 2010 at work and using the scale to size function in the print box does not work. There are two ways to tell the program to print to scale and neither works. There might be a setting that must be changed in order to to allow the print to scale function to work, but this is certainly not as straightforward in Word 2010 as it was in Word 2003, and in my experience is not possible. The obvious setting, which RobertAThompson directs to, does not work on my computer and apparently does not work on others' computers either. I could and often did use the print to scale function in Word 2003 but in Word 2010 I cannot make this function work, even though I located both (alternative?) places to choose this option, and did choose this option. (the settings I found are: print/printer properties/effects/resizing options, and print/settings/scale to paper size (under the bottom drop down menu in the Print window-'1 page per sheet' is the default choice in this menu). The print preview display does not change, and the actual printout does not print to scale. It prints at the regular size on the smaller paper, and whatever doesn't fit gets cut off. Extremely frustrating-thanks a lot, Bill Gates and Microsoft! Ok this is driving me nuts and i really need some help. Our office is mainly PCs. I'm on a mac, and so is one other person. We can both print to the printer when it's 8.5x11. Everything is perfect. Does double sided printing and everything. PROBLEM IS: Printing 11x17. She can do it on her mac. I can't do it on mine. And we can't for the life of us figure out what the problem is. When I print a document, from preview or from word, or anything else. I pick tabloid, and I hit print. It prints on the 8.5x11 paper and it doesnt even scale it. So what you get is the bottom quarter of the document printing on 8.5x11. And it's like it doesnt understand it needs to send the message to print on 11x17 paper. Please, help! So check this out: I had this issue for months on my work iMac with the two Xerox laser printers (7760 and 7750) we have in the office. I finally ended up giving up on the whole thing and just bothered co-workers to help me when I needed something on 11x17. Here's the kicker - My employer was kind enough to buy me a new 2014 Mac Pro and it STILL HAPPENS. It's driving me insane, and I can't seem to find a solution. Also worth noting that all my design cohorts (9 of them) use Macs and have no problems printing any size they want. WHAT IS GOING ON?! As it turns out, I'm the idiot. I honestly just thought, for whatever reason, that going to a site and downloading drivers for a printer was so 2003. I've had enough luck with OS X that I can't remember the last time I actually installed a driver from a disk or the web. Apparently I was the one using the generic postcript driver. I would install the printer in System Preferences and I thought that was all that needed to be done. After a bit of poking around, I found that I had 'Version 1.0' of the Xerox software, so I sought out a newer version on Xerox's site.
